ROCLI LEARNING BLOCKS
Social Learning for Neurodivergent Students
Rocli Learning Blocks provide a structured, supportive environment where neurodivergent students can build social confidence, communication skills, and independence through guided group activities.
While many children receive therapy or academic instruction during the week, they often have limited opportunities to practice social interaction and real-world life skills in a calm, supportive environment.
Learning Blocks are designed to give students a space where they can connect with peers, build friendships, and practice important social skills in a structured way.

Who Learning Blocks Are For
Learning Blocks are designed for students who:

• benefit from small group environments
• are autistic or neurodivergent
• need additional support developing social skills
• are homeschooled or participate in alternative learning programs
• thrive with predictable routines and guided interaction
These sessions are intentionally designed for students who may feel overwhelmed in larger group settings but still benefit from peer interaction.
What Happens During Learning Blocks
Learning Blocks focus heavily on social interaction, communication, and life skills development.
Activities may include:

• guided peer interaction
• cooperative games
• turn-taking and communication activities
• problem-solving activities
• role-playing real-world social situations
• teamwork-based challenges
• structured play and movement activities
• creative projects and hands-on learning
• functional life skills practice
These activities help students develop confidence and comfort interacting with others while still feeling supported.

Skills Students May Practice
Learning Blocks are designed to support development in areas such as:

• initiating and maintaining conversations
• understanding personal space and boundaries
• emotional regulation in group settings
• cooperation and teamwork
• flexible thinking and problem solving
• independence and self-confidence
• navigating social situations
Each session is structured but flexible, allowing students to participate at their own comfort level while gradually building confidence.
Small Group Environment
Learning Blocks maintain small group sizes so students receive support while interacting with peers.

This allows facilitators to guide social interaction and help students practice communication and participation in a positive environment.

Why Social Learning Matters
For many neurodivergent students, academic instruction alone is not enough.

Students also need opportunities to practice:

• building friendships
• participating in group activities
• navigating social environments
• developing independence
Learning Blocks create a safe space where students can build these skills in a way that feels supportive rather than overwhelming.
